Previous Stock Reports:

Volume 1

⇑ Stock Up ⇑

Hitter – Jason Schiavone

Schiavone was drafted by the Astros in the 11th round of the 2024 draft out of James Madison University. After a subpar 2025 season, Schiavone has taken a huge step forward in 2026. So far this year, the 23-year-old has been on a tear hitting .289 with a minor league leading 17 home runs. He’s also posted an extremely strong walk rate over 23% while posting a 1.218 OPS. At catcher, he’s also thrown out 25% of base stealers.

2026 Stats: 35 G, .289 BA/.452 OBP/.766 SLG, 10 2B, 17 HR, 42 RBI, 9 SB, 39 BB

Hitter – Justin Thomas

Thomas was another 11th round pick by the Astros, this time in 2025. He signed for $177,500, more than slot for the position. Thomas has put together a strong season so far hitting .300 with 8 doubles, 4 home runs and 13 stolen bases. Like Schiavone, he has also posting a strong walk rate collecting 29 walks in 31 games. While there have been some strikeouts, when he makes contact he is doing some big time damage.

2026 Stats: 31 G, .300 BA/.469 OBP/.482 SLG, 8 2B, 4 HR, 19 RBI, 13 SB, 29 BB

Pitcher – Jagger Beck

The Astros took a somewhat unconventional route after the 2024 draft, signing right-hander Jagger Beck out of high school. After getting a brief taste of pro ball in 2025, the 19-year-old opened this season with his full-season debut in Fayetteville and has shown plenty of promise early on. Through six appearances, Beck owns a 3.92 ERA with 26 strikeouts over 20.2 innings pitched. While he has allowed his share of base runners, he’s done a strong job limiting damage and pitching through traffic.

2026 Stats: 6 G, 3.92 ERA, 20.2 IP, 26 H, 9 ER, 9 BB, 26 K, 11.3 K/9

Pitcher – Alimber Santa

Santa has been around a while but is truly finding his stride this season. So far this season for Sugar Land, Santa has been elite out of the bullpen. Through 17 games, he’s posted a 1.42 ERA while striking out 24 batters over 19.0 innings. The biggest improvement has been the walks. He has walked just 7 in those 19 innings after walking 16 in 13 innings in Triple-A last year. He’s also held opponents to just a .159 batting average against.

2026 Stats: 18 G, 1.42 ERA, 19.0 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 7 BB, 24 K, 11.4 K/9
