Astros 2026 Draft Picks Signing Tracker

Below is a list of the Astros draft picks, a quick write-up on them, and their signing status. I will update this as the signings come

Note: Teams can go over their bonus pool by 5% without losing picks and only paying tax. This would give the Astros $14,398,335 total bonus pool.

Rd 1, #17) Logan Hughes, OF, Texas Tech

Hughes is an extremely productive college hitter from Texas Tech. In his junior year, Hughes hit .375 with 18 home runs and 50 walks to 33 strikeouts over 55 games. Hughes has one of the best hit tools in the draft and solid power to match. While he may not provide a ton on defense, his bat is his calling card and should help him move through the system quickly. He’s a left-handed hitter who makes contact and has plus raw power.

Rd 1, #28) Jake Radel, RHP, Notre Dame

With the second pick of the first round, the Astros went with a pitcher in Radel. He is huge listed at 6-5 and 250 lbs. He has a fastball that he runs up to 98 mph and a plus cutter, slider and plus control. This year for Notre Dame, the right-hander posted a 3.29 ERA while striking out 116 batters over 87.2 innings. He also has elite extension which helps his pitches play up.

Rd 2, #57) Wes Mendes, LHP, Florida State

The Astros go back to back pitchers. Mendes was a standout at Florida State in 2026. The left-hander posted a 2.81 ERA with 125 strikeouts over 93 innings. Some evaluators noted that he has the best changeup in the draft, while also having a slider and cutter and plus control. Back to back pitchers with good control. Mendes runs his fastball around 92 mph with a five pitch mix.

Rd 3, #93) Keon Johnson, SS, First Presbyterian HS (GA)

The Astros dipped into the high school talent with the third pick taking shortstop Keon Johnson out of Georgia. Johnson has solid tools across the board with his hit tool and his arm the best of the bunch. Johnson has really good bat speed and strength and the skills to stick at shortstop in professional baseball.

Rd 4, #121) Kam Durnin, SS, Missouri

Durnin attended Wichita State before transferring to Missouri for his junior season where he had a breakout year batting .329 with 9 home runs and 11 stolen bases. Durnin plays a really good shortstop and has the chance to stick up the middle in pro ball. He was the Appalachian League player of the year last year.

Rd 4, #133) Beau Peterson, 3B, Mill Valley HS (KS)

The Astros go back to high school with this pick and get a huge upside infielder in Peterson. Peterson has a great bat, 55 grade according to Pipeline, and has some really good raw power he hasn’t tapped into yet. He sprays line drives and has a big arm at the hot corner. He is committed to Texas.

Rd 5, #153) Gavin Eddy, RHP, California

Eddy is another large pitcher joining the organization. Listed at 6-5 and 225 lbs, Eddy had a nice season for California posting a 2.87 ERA with 92 strikeouts over 84.2 innings. He has a low to mid 90s fastball and an elite power breaking ball. He is another pitcher with big extension. He was ranked #456 by Baseball America.

Rd 6, #182) Michael Addari, RHP, Illinois State

Addari flew up the draft rankings this year getting a chance to start for Illinois State. The right-hander posted a 2.27 ERA with 73 K over 67.1 innings. He has a fastball and sinker that sits mid 90s with an above average slider. He also has a solid changeup and… another prospect with solid extension. He was ranked #179 by Baseball America.

Rd 7, #211) Bryan Carney, RHP, University of Olivet

The Astros take another college pitcher with their 7th round pick in Bryan Carney. Carney pitched four years at Olivet, a Division 3 school. His best year was this this season where he had a 1.35 ERA with 122 strikeouts over 73.1 innings, allowing just 41 hits. He’s listed at 6-6 and 210 lbs.

Rd 8, #241) Aaron Piasecki, SS, Troy

Piasecki transferred to Troy for the 2026 season and had a big year hitting .337 with 17 doubles, 10 home runs, 10 stolen bases and 41 walks to 24 strikeouts. He also performed well in wood bat leagues hitting .361 with 44 stolen bases and 107 walks to 41 strikeouts across 145 games. He has experience at both second base and shortstop.

Rd 9, #271) Ryan Pruitt, OF, South Florida

Pruitt has bounced around a few colleges but landed at South Florida the last two years. In 2026, the left-handed hitting outfielder batted .275 with 20 stolen bases and more walks than strikeouts. He appears to have good walk and strikeout rates while adding some speed on the bases and in the outfield.

Rd 10, #301) Tazwell Butler, RHP, Kansas State

Butler pitched two years at Walters State before transferring to Kansas State. This season, he had a 5.24 ERA over 21 games striking out 58 batters over 55 innings. He performed well in the MLB Draft League though posting a 1.53 ERA with 28 strikeouts over 17.2 innings in four starts.

Rd 11, #331) Peyton Fiene, RHP, Odessa JC

Fiene is a 20-year-old right-hander who pitched at Odessa JC this past season and had some strong numbers striking out 107 batters over 72.2 innings. He has a fastball that’s up to 96 mph while also possessing a slider, curveball and changeup. He was committed to Dallas Baptist University.

Rd 12, #361) Owen Nowak, OF, Middle Tennessee State

Nowak is an outfielder from Middle Tennessee State who has excellent bat control. In 57 games in 2026, Nowak hit .318 with 8 home runs, 8 stolen bases and 36 walks to 11 strikeouts. He performed well with wood bats too hitting .348 over 43 summer league games, striking out just 17 times.

Rd 13, #391) Jack Beck, SS, Columbia Central HS (TN)

Beck is a well built high school shortstop who was solid in spring and put on a show at the MLB Combine. The 18-year-old, who stands 6-3, hit 21 balls harder than 100 mph (with a max of 113 mph) and had the longest home run of the combine at 466 feet. He might end up at third but the power is legit. He is committed to Georgia Southern.

Rd 14, #421) Brady Thomas, RHP, Jacksonville State

Thomas is a two way player but was announced as a pitcher. Another imposing figure on the mound, Thomas stands 6-5 and 215 lbs. Last year for Jacksonville State he hit .329 with 11 home runs and on the mound struck out 18 over 14.1 innings across 8 outings, 2 starts for the Gamecocks.

Rd 15, #451) James Tronstein, SS, Harvard-Westlake HS (CA)

Tronstein is one of the highest potential prospects in the draft. While some scouts think he is undersized at 5-11, he has an above average hit tool and really good speed. He’s started to tap into the power a bit more and has the defensive ability to either be a shortstop or center fielder. He is committed to Vanderbilt so will probably be a tough sign.

Rd 16, #481) Rashawn Galloway, C, Texas State

The Astros nabbed their first catcher in the 16th round selecting Galloway out of Texas State. He spent all four years at Texas State and had his best senior as a senior hitting .318 with 27 doubles, 12 home runs and 18 walks to 23 strikeouts over 63 games for the Bobcats.

Rd 17, #511) Ben Tryon, INF, Dallas Baptist University

Tryon spent three years at Dallas Baptist and improved year over year, with 2026 being his best season. The left-handed hitter batted .315 with 11 doubles, 11 home runs and 33 walks to 42 strikeouts over 57 games. He played 90 games in wood bat leagues and hit .352 with 24 doubles, 7 home runs and 55 walks to 47 strikeouts.

Rd 18, #541) Petey Soto Jr, SS, Utah Tech

Soto is another up the middle pick, this time a shortstop. In his junior season for Utah Tech, Soto hit .347 with 6 home runs, 48 runs batted in and 13 stolen bases over 59 games. He is a solid defender at shortstop and adds another infielder to the depth in the farm system.

Rd 19, #571) Noah Miller, C, Michigan

Miller is a well built catcher who attended Michigan. While his playing time was sparse, in his junior season Miller hit .292 with 8 doubles and 3 home runs over 48 games. Miller was ranked the #2 catcher in his class coming out of high school so maybe the Astros can find something here.

Rd 20, #601) Mick Uebelhor, RHP, Western Kentucky

Uebelhor pitched at NAIA Oakland City for two years before moving to Western Kentucky where he pitched out of the pen. In 2026, he struck out 59 batters over 44.2 innings with a 3.43 ERA for the Hilltoppers. He’s listed at 6-3 and 210 lbs. so it will be interesting to see if the Astros keep him as a reliever or use him in the pen.

Signed Undrafted Free Agents:

Carson Estridge, RHP, West Virginia

Estridge is a big right-hander standing at 6-foot-7 who has pitched primarily out of the bullpen. In 2026 for the Mountaineers, Estridge posted a 3.09 ERA with 34 strikeouts over 35 innings in relief. He totaled 151 innings with 165 strikeouts in his college career.

John Carver, RHP, Aldephi

Carver spent four years at Aldephi and improved every year with his senior year being his best. The right-hander posted a 2.67 ERA with 92 strikeouts over 57.1 inning across 10 starts for the Panthers. He has a fastball around 92 mph and a slider and changeup.

Drew Wyers, INF, Mississippi State

Wyers has bounced around a bit in college playing at a few different schools. In 2025, he played for Bryant and hit .407 with 11 home runs and 26 walks to 17 strikeouts over 45 games. He transferred to Mississippi State for 2026 where he hit .333 with 4 home runs over 33 games. He’s played all over the infield and has a lot of wood bat games under his belt.
