Astros Prospect Hotlist: Week Six

For this piece, I will highlight the top performers at the plate and on the mound from the previous week of play. Below is the hotlist for Week Three. Here is last week’s Hotlist.

Who’s Hot At The Plate?

Luis Baez – Baez has been swinging it well in May and this week was no different. In four games, the 20-year-old hit .444 with two doubles, a homer and four runs batted in. He is hitting .295 overall this year.

Chase Jaworsky – Jaworsky has slowly been picking it up on offense. This week the 19-year-old had 3 doubles, 2 homers, 9 runs batted in and 3 BB/2 K in 6 games. Good for a 1.128 OPS this week.

Jeron Williams – Williams is on here for the second straight week. He followed up a huge week with more stellar work at the plate hitting .308 with 3 doubles and 3 stolen bases. He is hitting .347 overall this season.

Oliver Carrillo – Carrillo was acquired by the Astros this off-season and has hit well this year. This week in 5 games, Carrillo hit .333 with 2 doubles, a homer and 7 runs batted in. He has a .851 OPS overall this year.

Who’s Hot On The Mound?

Julio Robaina – Robaina turned in another good outing for the Hooks this week. The left-hander, in one start this week, went 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs while striking out 7. He has a 1.71 ERA in Double-A this season.

Jake Bloss – For the third week in a row, Bloss is on the hotlist. He followed up his Double-A debut with another stellar outing tossing 6 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. He has a 1.23 ERA with 35 K in 29.1 innings this season.

Tyler Guilfoil – Two weeks in a row with good outings for Guilfoil. Last week he allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 5 innings. This week he tossed 5.2 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. He owns a 3.95 ERA over 27.1 innings in Double-A.

Miguel Ullola – Ullola has had some dominant outings before, but this week he showed off again. While he allowed 3 runs, he was dominant striking out 12 over 6 innings. He has 50 K in 33.2 innings allowing just 15 hits this season.

Jackson Nezuh – Nezuh had his best outing as a pro this week. While it wasn’t a start, he came in relief and dominated. He went 5 innings allowing 1 hit, no runs and struck out 6. He has 32 K in 28 innings this season.
