Houston Astros Minor League Recap: June 11th
All four full season teams as well as the DSL squads in action. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (25-35) lost 4-2 (BOX SCORE)
Tough loss in extra innings for Fresno. Valdez got the start and pitched very well allowing just 1 run over 7 innings of work. Fresno got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd with a solo HR from Moran. The game would stay tied at 1-1 until the 9th inning. Salt Lake was able to scratch across a run in the 9th to take a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the 9th Fresno battled back with an RBI single from Moran to tie it. Unfortunately, Salt Lake would get 2 in the 10th and Fresno wasn’t able to match it.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (38-22) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)
Another good win for Corpus as they battled back in this one. Sneed got the start but struggled early giving up 3 runs in 3 innings. Corpus first got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd with a Garcia RBI double. Smith pitched 3 innings in relief and Corpus went into the 8th down 4-1. In the 8th Corpus scored two runs with Ramsay scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Bregman. They would go to the 9th down a run and end up tying the game on a Garcia RBI single. The game would stay tied at 4th into the bottom of the 10th. With two outs, Alex Bregman, came to bat and belted his 2nd walk-off HR of the season to win the game for the Hooks.

- Michael Freeman, LHP: 3.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (32-28) lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)
Weathersby got the start for Lancaster and got roughed up a bit giving up 5 runs in 6.1 innings. Lancaster got on the board with an RBI single from Mizell in the 2nd. The only other scoring they would get would be a Marlow double, as he eventually came around to score on a wild pitch. The offense wasn’t able to put much else together and they fell 5-2.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (26-35) won 7-6 (BOX SCORE)
Quad Cities was rolling comfortably in this one until the 6th inning. Perez got the start and was very good going 5.2 innings allowing 1 run and striking out 2. QC got on the board in the 3rd when Duarte singled in Straw. The River Bandits would post a 5 spot in the 5th thanks to an RBI single from McCall, 2 run triple from Roa, and a 2 run HR from Ballard. Nicely made his season debut but he didn’t get and out giving up 3 runs. QC would get one more run in the 8th to make it 7-4, and good thing as Burlington scored two more. Garza pitcher the final 1.1 innings to seal the win.
