Just like the stock market, prospects’ stock will go up and down throughout the season. Below are a few hitters and pitchers who have seen their stock rise. Here is the Astros Prospect Stock Report 2026: Volume 4. Previous Stock Reports: Volume 1 Volume 2 Volume 3
⇑ Stock Up ⇑
Hitter – Yamal Encarnacion
Encarnacion was signed by the Astros in January of 2021. He has flown under the radar but has put up some solid numbers. This year in Double-A, at 22 years old, he is having one of his best professional seasons. Through 93 games for the Hooks, Encarnacion is hitting .266 with a .723 OPS. He’s been ever better of late though hitting .344 with 5 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 14 stolen bases over his last 23 games. Encarnacion has been a spark plug, consistently getting on base, wreaking havoc on the bases and providing solid defense at both second base and in the outfield.
2026 Stats: 93 G, .266 BA/.337 OBP/.386 SLG, 18 2B, 4 3B, 5 HR, 48 RBI, 47 SB
Hitter – Waner Luciano
Luciano is another international signing that took a little while to get going, but is looking like a legit prospect now. Over his last 25 games, Luciano is hitting .356 with 8 doubles, 6 home runs, 10 stolen bases and 22 walks to 17 strikeouts. Overall this season, the 21-year-old is hitting .281 with a .893 OPS with 12 doubles, 8 home runs and more walks than strikeouts. Luciano has some big power from the right side and has put that on display this season. Despite the couple tough seasons, his stock is definitely on the rise over the last few weeks.
2026 Stats: 53 G, .286 BA/.404 OBP/.497 SLG, 12 2B, 8 HR, 40 RBI, 16 SB
Pitcher – Bryce Mayer
Mayer, the Astros 16th round selection in 2024, had a big 2025 season winning minor league pitcher of the year. Despite that, his stock has continued to rise this season. Over his last six outings, Mayer has a 0.29 ERA with 41 strikeouts over 30.2 innings allowing just 14 hits. On the season, the right-hander has a 2.61 ERA with 100 strikeouts in 69 innings, holding opponents to just a .184 batting average against. Mayer runs his fastball up to 96 mph and mixes in multiple off-speed pitches. His command has also taken a step forward over the last few outings.
2026 Stats: 17 G, 2.61 ERA, 69.0 IP, 44 H, 20 ER, 34 BB, 100 K, 13.0 K/9
Pitcher – Jackson Nezuh
Nezuh has drafted by the Astros in the 14th round of the 2023 draft. He had a breakout year in 2024 but his 2025 was a little challenging. In 2026, Nezuh started off the season in Double-A and posted a 3.97 ERA with 80 strikeouts over 65.2 innings. Over his last six outings, three of which were in Triple-A, he’s posted a 3.09 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 32 innings. His last two outings in Triple-A he’s struck out 9 in both games and 35 swings and missed between both games. He runs his fastball up to 96 mph and has a really good changeup. 2026 Stats: 17 G, 4.15 ERA, 80.1 IP, 64 H, 37 ER, 34 BB, 99 K, 11.1 K/9
