On Thursday, Baseball America announced the 2026 Dominican Summer League All-Star teams, and three Astros prospects earned the honor.
Leading the way is Albert Fermin, the Astros’ top international signing from the 2026 class after receiving a $2.1 million bonus. The 17-year-old switch-hitter has lived up to the hype, batting .357 with six doubles, three home runs, 15 stolen bases, and more walks than strikeouts through 28 games. If his development continues, he could follow a similar path to Kevin Alvarez and reach full-season ball next year.
Shortstop Randy Arias, who signed for $1.4 million in the same international class, also earned All-Star recognition. Arias has put together a strong season, posting an .824 OPS with four doubles, two triples, one home run, and six stolen bases in 25 games.
Pitcher Victor Jimenez, a member of the Astros’ 2025 international class, rounded out the group’s honors. While some of the underlying metrics suggest there is room for improvement, the results have been outstanding. Jimenez has allowed just three earned runs over 27.2 innings, good for a 0.98 ERA.
The 2026 Dominican Summer League All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, July 19.
