Another busy week down on the farm as the season continues to roll on. Here’s a look at some of the biggest developments across the system with this week’s Pipeline Report.
System Spotlight
MLB Draft
Tomorrow, the first round of the MLB Draft gets underway, and the Astros hold two first-round picks at No. 17 and No. 28. With an opportunity to add multiple impact prospects, this draft will play a key role in continuing to build the farm system. The Astros also own an extra fourth-round pick as compensation for Framber Valdez signing with Detroit in free agency.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve put together mock drafts, first-round players to watch, expert mock draft roundups and much more. You can find all of that below.
Continuing to Impress
Jackson Nezuh – RHP – Corpus Christi
Nezuh was selected by the Astros in the 14th round of the 2023 MLB Draft and broke onto the scene with a big 2024 season, recording 151 strikeouts over 120.2 innings across three levels. After an up-and-down 2025 campaign, the right-hander has found his groove in 2026. On the season, Nezuh owns a 3.97 ERA with 80 strikeouts over 65.2 innings, but he has been even better over the last few weeks. Across his last three starts, he has posted a 1.56 ERA while striking out 25 batters over 17.1 innings.
If he continues pitching at this level, Nezuh should earn a promotion to Sugar Land in the near future, leaving him just one step away from the major leagues.
Under-the-Radar Performer
Jack Moss – 1B – Asheville
One Transaction This Week
Marcus Brown – INF – Corpus Christi
In an effort to build the organization’s depth, the Astros acquired infielder Marcus Brown in a trade a few weeks ago. He was assigned to Asheville and made an immediate impact, hitting .387 with a double, two home runs and seven RBI before earning a promotion to Double-A Corpus Christi.
While Brown may not appear on many top prospect lists, adding quality players like him is an important part of building organizational depth. Players who can produce and contribute at every level play a significant role in creating a winning culture throughout the farm system.

Who Could Be Next?
While Lucas Spence just reached Triple-A, the Astros’ need for outfield help could eventually lead them to one of their fastest-rising prospects. Signed as an undrafted free agent, Spence put together a breakout first professional season that saw him quickly climb the organizational rankings.
After a slow start to the 2026 season, Spence caught fire in June, batting .354 with eight doubles, five home runs and 26 RBI. He has carried that momentum into Triple-A, where he is hitting .283 through his first 14 games.
