Who’s Hot At The Plate?
Drew Brutcher – Brutcher, signed as an undrafted free agent in 2024, has been on a tear since joining the Hooks. This week in six games he hit .438 with a home run, 5 runs batted in and an impressive 7 walks to 4 strikeouts. Overall he is hitting .306 this season.
Pascanel Ferreras – Like Brutcher, Ferreras has also been dominant since his promotion to Triple-A. This week Ferreras hit .450 with 3 doubles, a triple and 7 runs batted in. Since his promotion to Triple-A, he is hitting .455 over 15 games for Sugar Land.
Lucas Spence – Spence got off to a slow start but has really started to turn it around. This week in six games for the Hooks he hit .333 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. He’s hitting .356 with a 1.051 OPS in 17 games in June.
Arturo Flores – Flores is a young catcher down in Fayetteville but has been doing some damage with the bat this year. This week the 20-year-old hit .409 with 3 doubles, 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. Overall he has 9 home runs and a .796 OPS this season.
Albert Fermin – Fermin got the biggest international bonus the Astros issued out this year and is off to a good start in the DSL. This week the 17-year-old hit .563 with 2 doubles, a home run and 10 runs batted in. He also added six stolen bases in six games.

Who’s Hot On The Mound?
Ethan Pecko – After a slower start to the year, Pecko has turned it on in June. Following 7 scoreless innings last week, the right-hander tossed 7 innings allowing just 1 run with 5 strikeouts this week. He’s allowed 1 run over his last 18 innings and appears to be close to getting a call-up.
Brett Gillis – Gillis has had some strong starts this season and this week was probably his best. In his start for the Hooks, the right-hander tossed 6 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit while striking out 5. He has a 3.88 ERA this season in Double-A.
Nick Potter – Potter was drafted by the Astros in the 5th round of the 2025 draft and is looking like a nice selection. This week, the right-hander had his best outing of the season tossing 5 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. He has a 1.89 ERA overall this season.
Parker Smith– Smith has been up and down a bit but turned in a really strong outing for Asheville this week. In his one start for the Tourists, Smith went 6 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, while striking out 4 batters. He has a 3.07 ERA during the month of June.
