On Wednesday, the Astros officially announced the minor league rosters for all four full-season affiliates. This is always one of my favorite times of the year. Below are the rosters, and then I will add some notes for each level.

Sugar Land:

The Space Cowboys roster is returning a lot of players who were there last year, or in Spring Training with the big league club. The pitching staff has Spencer Arrighetti, Colton Gordon, J.P. France, Jose Feury and Miguel Ullola. There are some intriguing relief arms like Alimber Santa and Hudson Leach too.

Offensively there are a lot of veteran players. The Astros have Shay Whitcomb back in Triple-A, and Zach Cole starting off the year here. Some other intriguing names are Cavan Biggio and Collin Price.

Corpus Christi:

This pitching staff is going to be fun. The minor league pitcher of the year in 2025, Bryce Mayer, will be starting in Double-A. He is joined by other prospect starters like James Hicks, Trey Dombroski and Jackson Nezuh. Alex Santos will be back inn Double-A and a few other guys who are healthy now.

Offensively they will have Luis Baez back, hoping to rebound from last year. He is joined by top outfield prospect Joseph Sullivan and Lucas Spence. They also have the Astros top catching prospect in Walker Janek starting out in Double-A.

Asheville:

My breakout candidate for 2026 is here, right-hander Cole Hertzler. They also have Parker Smith, Andrew Taylor and some pitchers now healthy like Jose Guedez and Nolan DeVos.

The Astros third round pick last year, Ethan Frey, gets a nice start in Asheville. He is joined by Caden Powell, Zach Daudet, Kyle Walker and Alejandro Nunez.

Fayetteville:

This team could be really fun. On the pitching side, they have some high potential arms like Jagger Beck and Nick Potter, as well as some intriguing international guys like Javier Perez, Jesus Carrera and Leomar Rosario.

The position group is the best it’s been in a while. Headlined by top prospects Kevin Alvarez and Xavier Neyens. They also have breakout Anthony Huezo, and some other intriguing international guys like Kenni Gomez, Juan Sierra, Camilo Diaz and Hector Salas.

Who are you looking forward to watching this season?
