Hitter – Kevin Alvarez

Alvarez was one of the Astros prize international signings in January, inking a deal for $2 million. He has been great in the Dominican Summer League this season but has been even better over the last few weeks hitting .371 with 9 walks to 4 strikeouts over his last 19 games. Overall he is hitting .330 with 7 doubles, 2 home runs, 24 runs batted in and 12 BB/11 SO in 30 games. A great start for now one the Astros top prospects.

2025 Stats: 30 G, .330 BA/.421 OBP/.485 SLG, 7 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 24 RBI, 5 SB

Hitter – Joseph Sullivan

Sullivan was drafted by the Astros in the 7th round of the 2024 draft. He started the year in High-A and has hit well, including hitting .291 with 4 doubles, 3 home runs over his last 15 games. Overall in High-A, he posted a .872 OPS with 15 home runs and 34 stolen bases earning him a promotion to Double-A. While he has some strikeout concerns, Sullivan has clearly demonstrated the power/speed combination the Astros like.

2025 Stats: 75 G, .233 BA/.411 OBP/.462 SLG, 11 2B, 2 3B, 15 HR, 35 RBI, 34 SB

Pitcher – Bryce Mayer

Mayer was drafted by the Astros in the 16th round of the 2024 draft and is looking like a steal. The right-hander started out in Single-A and posted a 2.85 ERA in 41 innings earning a promotion to High-A. After just 17.2 innings in High-A, he was promoted to Double-A where the ERA is a bit up, but the peripherals look great (11.9 K/9). Mayer has racked up 93 strikeouts in 72.1 innings with a 3.61 ERA and has been one of the best pitching prospects in the system this season.

2025 Stats: 17 G, 3.61 ERA, 72.1 IP, 59 H, 29 ER, 20 BB, 93 K, 11.6 K/9

Pitcher – Juan Bello

Bello was acquired as the prospect in the trade that sent Ryan Pressly to Chicago. After a rough start to the season, he has really turned it on recently posting a 2.62 ERA since May 7th, striking out 44 over 44.2 innings while allowing just a .196 batting average against. Bello has a low 90s fastball and a plus breaking ball that he uses to generate whiffs. He’s allowed 3 earned runs over his last 15 innings and has a 3.88 ERA overall this season.

2025 Stats: 16 G, 3.88 ERA, 62.2 IP, 54 H, 27 ER, 31 BB, 61 K, 8.8 K/9
