Astros Prospect Stock Report 2025: Volume 1

Just like the stock market, prospects’ stock will go up and down throughout the season. Below are a few players hitter who have seen their stock rise. Here is the Astros Prospect Stock Report 2025: Volume 1.


⇑ Stock Up ⇑

Hitter – Lucas Spence

Signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 draft, Spence if off to a hot start in 2025. The 22-year-old hit .286 in Single-A earning a promotion to High-A where he’s currently hitting .312 with a .877 OPS. He’s added 11 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 14 stolen bases this year as he’s primarily played in center field.

2025 Stats: 43 G, .299 BA/.419 OBP/.435 SLG, 11 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 19 RBI, 14 SB

Hitter – Drew Brutcher

Another undrafted free agent from 2024, Brutcher joined the Astros system after spending 4 years at South Florida. The 6’5″ outfielder has been on a heater recently raising his season average up to .356 in 40 games. He’s hitting .396 in the month of May with an OPS over .900. He’s also posted a solid 11.7 BB%.

2025 Stats: 40 G, .356 BA/.433 OBP/.477 SLG, 11 2B, 2 3B, HR, 20 RBI, SB

Pitcher – Luis Rodriguez

Rodriguez was acquired by the Astros in the deal that sent Julks to the White Sox. He was assigned to Fayetteville to start the year and has been dominant. Through 9 outings, the right-hander has a 1.76 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 41 innings. Even more impressive is he has only allowed 26 hits, good for just a .187 batting average against.

2025 Stats: 9 G, 1.76 ERA, 41.0 IP, 26 H, 8 ER, 22 BB, 40 K, 8.8 K/9

Pitcher – Alimber Santa

Santa was a big name a couple springs ago when he was running the fastball up to nearly 100 MPH as a teenager. After some injury plagued seasons, Santa made his way up to Double-A this season and the Astros have used him in relief. The right-hander has been great posting a 1.15 ERA with 32 K in 31.1 innings over 15 games for the Hooks.

2025 Stats: 15 G, 1.15 ERA, 31.1 IP, 22 H, 4 ER, 12 BB, 32 K, 9.2 K/9
