Robier Hernandez via Miguel Hernandez

The Houston Astros are reported to be signing pitcher Robier Hernandez, according to a report from Miguel Hernandez. Hernandez is an 17-year-old right-handed pitcher from Cuba.

He is seen as an athletic pitcher who should be a starter at the professional level. Hernandez pitched in the 2022 U-15 World Cup with Cuba. The deal is expected to be finalized in January though the bonus is unknown at this time.

This report follows some other reported agreements with pitchers Adriano Marrero. Alex Santiago Gonzalez, Isaac Palacio and Jhosue Rodriguez.
