The Houston Astros are reported to be signing pitcher Jhosue Rodriguez, according to a report from Jesus Linares. Rodriguez is an 19-year-old right-handed pitcher from Venezuela.
He is seen as an athletic pitcher who possesses a fastball, changeup, slider and curveball. The deal is expected to be finalized in January though the bonus is unknown at this time.
This report follows some other reported agreements with pitchers Adriano Marrero and Alex Santiago Gonzalez.
Astros perform well in Arizona Fall League
The Arizona Fall League finished their season recently but the Astros prospects had some really strong performances. The best was right-handed pitcher Alex Santos who posted a 3.57 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 17.2 innings.
Austin Deming connected on 3 home runs in 18 games, Collin Price drove in 15 runs in 18 games and Quincy Hamilton had a .341 OBP with 6 stolen bases in 21 games. Solid performances all around.
