The Houston Astros signed catcher Arturo Flores to a minor league contract, he announced on Instagram back in September. Flores, who is from Las Vegas, Nevada and just turned 19-years-old, is listed at 6’3″ and 205 lbs.
“Your determination, diligence, and commitment are going to start paying,” former MLB pitcher Alex Sanabia said on Instagram. “The Stros org signed a kid with qualities that few people possess.”
Flores is a right-handed hitter and following the signing was assigned to the FCL Astros. While they won’t be playing any games, he can get some work in and will most likely be starting back with the FCL Astros next season.
