Houston Astros Minor League Recap: June 10th

All four full season teams as well as the DSL squads in action. See how the prospects performed last night.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (25-34) lost 6-3 (BOX SCORE)

Peacock got the start for the Grizzlies in this one. He gave up 4 runs, all unearned, over 5 innings of work. Fresno got their scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd inning when AJ Reed hit a solo HR to center, his 8th HR of the season. They would get another run in the 3rd on a bases loaded walk from Worth. Gustave pitched two innings and relief and gave up 2 runs. Unfortunately, Fresno’s offense wasn’t able to much else together and lost 6-3.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (37-22) lost 7-6 (BOX SCORE)

Tough loss for Corpus in extra innings. They fell behind 1-0 after two innings but would bounce back. They score 2 run in the 3rd inning on a Bregman 2 run single. In the 4th inning they got a 2 run single from Garcia and an RBI single from Teoscar to go up 5-1. Frias got the start and while he was good the first 4 innings, he gave up 4 runs in the 5th and the game was tied. The game went to the 10th and McCurry gave up 2 runs. Tanielu hit a solo HR in the bottom of the inning to make it 7-6 but that is all they would get.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (32-28) lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Offense was quiet in loss last night. Dykxhoorn got the start and wasn’t too bad going 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs with 4 strikeouts. The only scoring for Lancaster came on a Reynoso RBI single in the second inning. Dorris and Comer combined to pitch the final 3 innings with Dorris giving up 1 run. Laureano and Boyd both had two hits and Stubbs and Ferguson both had a double.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (25-35) lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Quad Cities could only muster one run in this game. Murphy got the start and allowed just 1 earned run over 5 innings of work. The River Bandits got on the board with a solo HR from Porter, his 3rd of the season. Quiala pitched the second half of the tandem and wasn’t bad giving up 2 runs, 0 earned, over 3 innings of work. Trompiz and Goedert both doubled but that would do it for the offense.

DSL Astros Orange (6-0) won 10-4 (BOX SCORE)
