Houston Astros Minor League Recap: May 7th
Crazy night on the farm as Lancaster erupts and three of the four teams walk away with wins. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (13-15) lost 6-4 (BOX SCORE)
This game got off a great start for Fresno. Worth hit a 2 run HR to give Fresno an early lead. Lance McCullers, making a rehab start, was phenomenal. He went five shutout innings striking out seven and allowing just two hits. Kemp and Singleton also homered and McCullers left the game with Fresno up 3-0. Unfortunately the bullpen had a bad night and gave up 6 runs to El Paso in the 7th and 8th innings. Fresno was sent down in order in the 9th splitting the series with El Paso.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (14-14) won 2-0 (BOX SCORE)
The duo of Musgrove and Yuhl has been great this year and last night was no different. Yuhl got the start going five shutout innings. Musgrove came in relief and pitched three shutout innings with four strikeouts. He now has 3 BB/30 K and a 0.34 ERA on the season. On offense the Hooks only managed two runs but it was enough. The two runs came from the bat of Evan Gattis who hit a 2 run HR scoring Alex Bregman. McCurry struck out the side in the 9th to seal the win.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (11-16) won 19-5 (BOX SCORE)
The California League is known to have some high scoring games and last night was definitely one of them as Lancaster erupted for 19 runs. Their run totals over the first five innings was 7, 3, 2, 2, 5 to total the 19 runs. The pitching was solid as Grills, Del Rosario, and Heredia combined to strikeout 11 while walking just two. Nick Tanielu had five hits raising his season BA to .350. Boyd added three hits raising his average to .282. Five different players had multi-hits with Stubbs hitting the only homer.

QC gets back in the win column with a solid win last night. They got off to a nice start scoring four runs in the top of the first. QC starter, Justin Ferrell, pitched well allowing just two earned runs over five innings with seven strikeouts. He was relieved by Albert Abreu who pitched four scoreless innings striking out seven. On the offensive side the River Bandits drew 8 walks, with five coming from the top 3 hitters. Tucker went 2-for-4 and stole three bases giving him 11 SB on the season.
