Houston Astros Minor League Recap: May 6th

All four teams in the Astros system and it ended in a split. See how the prospects performed last night.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (13-14) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

Nice win for Fresno as they had to battle back for this one. Fresno got the scoring started with a Singleton RBI groundout in the first inning. El Paso responded with a run in the 3rd and the game stayed tied at 1 until the 6th inning when Stassi had an RBI single to give Fresno a 2-1 lead. Shirley ended up going 6 IP allowing just one earned run. El Paso took the lead with three in the 8th. In the top of the 9th Danny Worth had a 2 run single to give Fresno the lead. Hoyt pitched a perfect 9th to seal the win.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (13-14) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Corpus keeps pace with Fresno. Frias got off to a rough start walking the first three batters of the game and giving up two runs in the first. He would settle down and finish with 6 IP, 3 ER. Corpus got their scoring started in the third with RBI from Hyde and Fisher. Vasquez and McDonald each had a sacrifice fly. West pitched in relief and was great with 3 shutout innings. Bregman finished with two hits (both doubles) and a walk.
