Houston Astros Minor League Recap: May 12th
All four teams in the Astros system in action with Corpus winning in a walk-off. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (14-19) lost 9-5 (BOX SCORE)
This game was closer than the score indicates. Starting pitching Shirley only went 4 innings and allowed just 2 earned runs. Fresno scored one in the 1st and one in the 6th thanks to a sac-fly from Moran. They entered the 8th down just 3-2 but the bullpen gave up 6 runs in the final two innings. In the bottom of the 9th Colin Moran hit a 2 run HR, his 2nd of the season and Jon Kemmer added a sac-fly but it wasn’t enough.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (17-15) won 6-5 (BOX SCORE)
Corpus with a great walk-off win. Cy Sneed got the start and was fantastic for the Hooks. Sneed went 5 shutout innings with 0 BB/5 SO. His fastball was sitting 93-94 MPH. Corpus got their scoring started in the bottom of the 4th. Hernandez led off with a single and then Bregman sent a deep shot to left for an RBI double. Bregman thought it was a homer but no replay available. Next batter, Derek Fisher, lined a 2 run HR to LF. Frias came in relief and gave up 2 runs in 2 innings. In the bottom of the 6th inning Gattis hit a 2 run HR to LF, his 4th with CC. Corpus took a 5-2 lead to the 9th but Frisco tied the game with 3 runs. Fisher led off the bottom of the 9th with a walk-off HR to fight fiedl, his 7th of the season.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (12-19) won 7-3 (BOX SCORE)
Lancaster gets back in the win column. They jumped out to an early lead scoring 1 run in each of the first three innings. Drew Feguson had a solo HR in the first, Muniz had an RBI single in the 2nd, and Tanielu had an RBI groundout in the first. Weathersby was solid giving up just 2 earned runs over 5 innings of work. Lancaster added two more in the 6th with an RBI triple from Wik and a sac fly from Trompiz. Muniz finished the night with 3 hits and 2 RBI. Eric Peterson finished the game with two scoreless innings.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (14-19) lost 10-9 (BOX SCORE)
Rough loss for the River Bandits last night. Tucker got the scoring started with an RBI single in the top of the 1st inning. The game would go back and forth all night. QC scored two in the top of the 4th, thanks to a couple of errors. Mizell had a big night with an RBI double in the 6th inning and 3 run triple in the top of the 9th. Duarte also added an RBI double in the 8th inning. QC was 9-4 going into the 9th and that is when the wheels fell off. Beloit scored 5 in the bottom of the 9th and then walked it off when a run in the bottom of the 13th.
