Astros Minor League Recap: May 29th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (31-22) lost 10-3 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Price solo HR. In the 3rd, Whitcomb added a solo HR, his 17th of the season. Brown got the start but struggled allowing 8 runs over 4.2 innings. Corona would connected on a solo HR in the 6th inning. The pen allowed a couple more runs and the offense was quiet the rest of the way as Sugar Land fell 10-3.

Note: Whitcomb leads minor league baseball with 17 HRs.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (16-31) lost 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the 4th on an Encarnacion solo HR. Mancini started for the Hooks and was solid allowing 2 runs over 5.1 innings. The game was only 7 innings, and the offense failed to score again as the Hooks fell 2-1.

Note: Mancini has a 3.80 ERA this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (21-27) won 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the 2nd inning scoring 2 runs on a Bush RBI double and Carrillo RBI double. They got another run in the 3rd on a Guillemette RBI single. In the 4th, Bush connected on a 2 run HR to extend the lead. Gillis got the start and pitched well tossing 5 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. The pen allowed a couple of runs but were able to hold on for the 5-2 win.

Note: Bush has a .881 OPS this season.
