Astros Minor League Recap: April 10th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (5-7) lost 7-2 (BOX SCORE)

Brown started for Sugar Land but struggled allowing 6 runs over 4 innings of work. The offense got on the board in the 4th on a Price RBI single. They got another run in the 6th on a Corona RBI groundout. Kouba tossed 3 innings in relief but the offense was unable to score again as Sugar Land fell 7-2.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (1-5) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first inning when Barber scored on a wild pitch. Swanson got the start and pitched well allowing 3 runs (all on a 3 run HR) over 5 innings while striking out 6. The Hooks got 2 runs back in the 3rd on a wild pitch and Ferreras solo HR. Santa tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief. The game went to extra innings and in the 10th, the Missions picked up a run. The offense was unable to counter in the bottom of the inning as the Hooks fell 4-3.


A+: Asheville Tourists (2-3) SUSPENDED

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (1-5)

Game 1 – lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Tredwell got the start and was great for the first 2 innings but ran into trouble in the third walking 3 and allowing a run. The offense tied it in the 4th on a Brutcher RBI double. Gonzalez pitched in relief but allowed 3 runs over 2 innings and the offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Woodpeckers dropped game one 4-1.

Game 2 – lost 5-0 (BOX SCORE)

Ogando got the start for game two but struggled with his command walking 7 and allowing 3 runs over 3 innings. He was relieved by Palmer who allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, over 3 innings with 4 strikeouts. The offense picked up just one hit in game two as the dropped the second end of the doubleheader 5-0.
