HITTER: Jacob Melton, OF

  • August Stats: 24 G, .277 BA/.322 OBP/.470 SLG, 4 2B, 4 HR, 14 RBI, 7 SB

Melton was slow out of the gate in Triple-A but he started to turn things on in August. In 22 games, the 23-year-old hit .277 with 4 doubles, 4 home runs, and 7 stolen bases. He’s also hitting .425 over his last 12 games. Overall this season he has 18 doubles,es 14 home runs and 27 stolen bases.

PITCHER: Logan VanWey

  • August Stats: 11 G, 0.66 ERA, 13.2 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 7 BB, 19 SO

This was a tough choice because Sugar Land had a few relievers who were deserving. VanWey was dominant in August striking out 19 batters over 13.2 innings, allowing just 9 hits and a .192 BAA. He has 87 strikeouts in 64 innings in relief this season for Sugar Land.

PITCHER: Jose Fleury, RHP

  • August Stats: 5 G, 2.86 ERA, 22.0 IP, 13 H, 7 ER, 6 BB, 30 SO

Fleury got off to a slow start dealing with some injuries, but had his best month of the season in August. The right-hander pitched in 5 games and had a 2.86 ERA while striking out 30 over 22 innings. He also held opposing batters to just a .163 batting average against.

HITTER: Narbe Cruz, INF

  • August Stats: 23 G, .280 BA/.372 OBP/.451 SLG, 6 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 5 SB
