Astros Minor League Recap: August 27th

Another day of Astros minor league action is in the books. See the results below!

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (78-48) won 10-2 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the second inning scoring 2 runs on a Salazar 2 run single. They got 3 more in the 3rd on a Hamiltion 2 run HR and Saccon RBI single. Blubaugh started for Sugar Land striking out 7 over 5 innings allowing 1 run. The offense got 3 more runs in the 5th on a Salazar RBI single and Kessinger 2 run double. Hamilton added a 2 run single in the 8th to extend the lead. The pen allowed 1 run but was able to close out the 10-2 win.

Note: Blubaugh has 105 K in 109.1 innings this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (44-75) won 6-1 (BOX SCORE)

Dombroski started for the Hooks and was dominant striking out 7 over 5 scoreless innings. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on an Encarnacion RBI double. In the 5th, Baez added a 2 run double to extend the lead. The offense got 2 more in the 6th on a Cerny RBI triple and Encarnacion sac fly. The offense added another in the 7th on an error. Ullola closed it out allowed 1 unearned run over 4 innings.

Note: Dombroski has 109 K in 91.2 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (48-71) lost 7-0 (BOX SCORE)

Batista started for Asheville and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs while striking out 4. The pen struggled allowing 5 runs as the Crawdads extended their lead. The offense was quiet on the night picking up just 5 hits as they were shutout in the 7-0 loss.

Note: Batista has 97 K in 105.1 innings this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (52-67) lost 7-1 (BOX SCORE)

Brito got the start and allowed 3 runs over 3.2 innings while striking out 6. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Vogel RBI single. Marte allowed 2 runs in relief as the RiverDogs extended their lead. The offense struggled the rest of the way as they fell 7-1.

Note: Brito has 78 K in 49 innings this season.
