Astros Prospect Hotlist: Week Three

Julio Robaina | Credit: Tammy Tucker

This year I figured I would try something new. Rather than do another recap of the full week, I will highlight the top performers at the plate and on the mound from the previous week of play. Below is the hotlist for Week Three. Here is last week’s Hotlist.

Who’s Hot At The Plate?

Cam Fisher – Fisher, the Astros 4th round pick in the 2023 draft, got off to a slow start but really turned it on this week. He only played in four games but connected on two doubles, four homers and drove in 9 runs. Overall he has a 1.022 OPS in 11 games in High-A Asheville.

Kenedy Corona – Corona, after a huge 2023 season, got off to a slow start at the plate. This week he turned things around a bit hitting .389 with 2 doubles, a triple and 4 runs batted in. He also picked up 3 stolen bases and only struck out once.

John Garcia – Garcia is off to a nice start for Asheville. The 22-year-old hit .385 this week (5-for-13) in 4 games including 2 doubles and 4 runs batted in. He also collected 3 walks bringing his OPS for the week to 1.009.

Who’s Hot On The Mound?

A.J. Blubaugh – For the third week in a row, Blubaugh ends up on the hotlist. This week in his one start for Sugar Land he allowed 1 run over 6.1 innings and struck out 7. Overall he has a 0.59 ERA with 19 K in 15 innings this season.

Aaron Brown – Brown had a solid start to the season but turned in one of the best performances of the season so far. In his one start this week he struck out 10 over 5 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit. He has 23 K in 13.2 innings this season.

Julio Robaina – Robaina made two starts this week in Double-A and pitched well in both. In the first, he allowed 1 run over 5 innings with 8 strikeouts. In the second start, he went 5 scoreless with 5 strikeouts. He has a 1.84 ERA this season.

James Hicks – Hicks is off to a tremendous start in 2024. The right-hander pitched in two games this week. In the first, he went 5 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts. In the second outing, he went 4 scoreless. He has yet to allow a run over 13 innings this season.
