Astros Minor League Recap: August 1st, 2021
Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.
AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (44-33) lost 8-7 (BOX SCORE)
The Skeeters jumped out to an early 2-0 lead getting a run on sac fly and another run on an error in the first inning. In the 2nd inning Papierski added a solo HR. France got the start and allowed 4 runs, all unearned, over 2.2 innings. The Skeeters got another run in the 4th on an error to tie the game at 4. Jones gave the Skeeters the lead in the 5th with a solo HR to left. The offense got two more in the 6th on a Hinojosa RBI single and Jones RBI groundout. The bullpen was solid until the 9th when Paredes gave up a game tying 3 run HR. The game went to extra innings and El Paso scored a run in the 10th to win it 8-7.
Note: Jones has a .955 OPS in AAA.
