Astros Minor League Recap: July 27th, 2021

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (41-30) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (33-41) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Endersby started for the Hooks and went 4.2 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 earned, while striking out 7. He was relieved by Conn who went 2.1 innings and allowed just 1 unearned run. The offense picked dup 2 runs in the 6th on Perez and Hensley RBI singles. Hernandez pitched the last 3 innings striking out 5 and not allowing a run. In the bottom of the 9th, the Hooks got one run on a Salazar sac fly but that was it as they lost 4-3.

Note: Hernandez has a 1.87 ERA with 49 K in 33.2 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (31-40) lost 9-4 (BOX SCORE)

Cody started for the Tourists but got roughed up in the second inning allowing 5 runs before being pulled. The offense got on the board in the 3rd on a 2 run HR from Whitcomb. Moclair tossed 1.1 scoreless innings to keep it close. The Tourists got 2 more runs back in the 7th on a Correa solo HR and Arias RBI double. The Braves added insurance scoring 4 in the 8th as they would go on to win 9-4.

Note: Whitcomb has 7 HR in 20 games for Asheville.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (32-41) POSTPONED
