Astros Minor League Recap: June 2nd, 2021

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (17-6) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (11-14) lost 8-7 (BOX SCORE)

Daniels started for the Hooks but really struggled lasting just 1.1 innings while allowing 7 runs. Taylor put the Hooks on the board in the 2nd inning with a 2 run HR. Corpus Christi got another in the 3rd on an Adams sac fly and one more in the 4th on a Costes RBI groundout. The Hooks inched closer in the 6th getting an RBI double from Leon and an RBI single from Manea to make it 8-6. Lawson was great in relief tossing 4 scoreless as he kept it close. Costes added a sac fly in the 8th to make it 8-7 but the Hooks were unable to score any other runs and lost 8-7.

Note: Lawson has a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (12-13) lost 13-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Tourists got their first run in the 2nd on a Holderbach sac fly. In the 3rd, McKenna added a run with a solo HR, his 5th of the season. Lopez started and while he struck out 6 over 3 innings, he also allowed 5 runs. The bullpen really struggled with Serrano, Conn, Moclair and Procopio all allowing runs. Perez added an RBI double in the 7th for the Tourists 3rd run. The bullpen continued to struggle and the Tourists dropped this one 13-3.

Note: McKenna has a .942 OPS in 23 games this season.
