Astros Minor League Recap: June 26th, 2021
Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.
AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (26-18) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)
Solomon started for the Skeeters and pitched well allowing just 2 runs over 5.1 innings. The Skeeters got their first run in the 3rd on a Papierski sac fly and another in the 4th on a Meyers RBI single. After OKC got 3 runs in the 6th, the Skeeters responded with 2 more runs on a Meyers RBI double and Hinojosa RBI single. Abreu, Kelly and Blanco all had scoreless outings to seal it.
Note: Meyers is hitting .327 with a 1.021 OPS this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (21-26) lost 5-2 (BOX SCORE)
The Sod Poodles jumped out to an early lead getting 3 runs in the first off of Bravo. Lee added a solo HR in the second, his 9th HR of the season. Olczak tossed 2.1 scoreless in relief of Bravo and then Lawson tossed 5 scoreless in relief to keep it close. The Hooks picked up 1 run in the 8th on a wild pitch to make it 3-2 but Tejada allowed 2 runs in the 9th and the Hooks were unable to rally losing this one 5-2.
Note: Lee has 6 HR in 11 games with the Hooks.

A+: Asheville Tourists (21-25) lost 13-2 (BOX SCORE)
Rivera started and allowed 4 runs while retiring just 1 batter. Sprinkle tossed 1.2 scoreless innings before Lopez allowed 8 runs in 3rd inning. The Tourists got a run in the 7th on a Valdez sac fly and another in the 8th on a McKenna RBI groundout. That was it from the offense as they were unable to mount a comeback.
Note: Valdez has 47 RBI in 42 games this season.

Taveras started and allowed 4 runs in 4.2 innings. The offense battled back getting 3 in the 7th on a Dirden RBI double and Daniels 2 run HR. They got 2 more in the 8th on a Correa RBI groundout and Arias RBI single. The Cannon Ballers tied it up in the bottom of the 8th and the game went to extras. In the 10th, the Woodpeckers scored 2 runs on Correa and Rodriguez RBI singles. The Cannon Ballers tied it up again in the bottom of the inning. The game went to the 11th and the Cannon Ballers walked it off with an RBI single to win it.
Note: Correa has a .734 OPS with 19 RBI this season.
