Report: Astros to Call-Up Yordan Alvarez
The move every Astros fan has been waiting for this season, is finally about to happen.
According to reports, the Astros are calling up one of their top prospects, Yordan Alvarez.
The Astros are calling up Yordan Alvarez from Triple A ahead of tomorrow’s game, sources tell The Athletic.— Jake Kaplan (@jakemkaplan) June 9, 2019
Alvarez has had a phenomenal season thus far. The 21 year old hit .354 with 12 HR, 30 RBI in April. He followed that up with .360 with 8 HR, 34 RBI in May. Overall this season he is slashing .343/.443/.742 with 23 HR, 71 RBI in just 56 games.
Alvarez will add a powerful left handed bat to the Astros lineup. He has played LF, 1B, and DH this year. I’m not sure where the Astros will plan to use him, but he should be able to help lack of production in some spots.
Welcome to the big leagues Yordan Alvarez!
