Astros Minor League Recap: May 12th

Astros Minor League Recap: May 12th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (23-13) won 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Bostick started for the Express and was solid allowing just 1 run over 5.1 innings, though he did walk 4. Alvarez put the Express on the board early connecting on a 3 run HR in the first inning, his 15th HR of the season. They picked up a little insurance when Mayfield scored on a wild pitch in the 6th. Guduan went 1.2 scoreless in relief and McCurry came in to get the last out of the 9th to record the save.

Note: Alvarez is hitting .436 with 3 HR, 12 RBI over his last 10 games.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (17-18) lost 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

LaRue started for the Hooks and went 4 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, with 5 strikeouts. The Hooks scored their first run with Duarte scoring on a balk in the first inning. Valdez relieved LaRue and pitched well allowing just 1 unearned run over 4.2 innings. Duarte added a sac fly in the 7th to make it 4-2 but that is all the offense would get as they lost by that same score.

Note: Duarte is hitting .275 with .823 OPS this season.
