Astros Minor League Recap: May 10th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (21-13) won 8-7 (BOX SCORE)

Another rough start for Whitley who allowed 5 runs over 3.2 innings, to include 3 HRs. He now has a 10.80 ERA this season. Fortunately the offense came to play. The Express put up 2 runs in the first on Alvarez and Tucker RBI singles. In the 2nd they scored 3 more runs on a Stubbs RBI single and Alvarez 2 run double. They added 2 more runs in the 5th on Tucker and Reed solo HRs. They got a little insurance in the 8th with a run scoring single from Mayfield. Sneed relieved Whitley and pitched the final 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs.

Note: Tucker is hitting .351 with 5 HR, 14 RBI over his last 10 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (16-17) won 9-2 (BOX SCORE)

Hernandez started for the Hooks and allowed just 1 run over 5 innings of work. Toro put the Hooks on the board in the first inning with a 2 run double. In the 4th they scored 4 more runs on a Dawson 2 run single and Toro 2 run HR, his 6th. They picked up 3 more in the 5th on a Benedetti RBI triple, Sierra sac fly, and Duarte solo HR. Abreu relieved Hernandez and allowed 1 run over his 3 innings of work.

Note: Toro is hitting .353 with 2 HR, 10 RBI over his last 10 games.
