Astros Minor League Playoff Recap: September 8th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (2-2) lost 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Mayfield put the Grizzlies on the board in the first inning on an RBI double to go up 1-0. The offense would really struggle after that. Sneed started for Fresno and was rolling through 6 but allowed 3 runs in the 7th inning. Emanuel relieved him and allowed another run as Fresno went down 4-1. Alvarez hit a solo HR in the 9th to try and start a comeback but that was all they would get as they dropped game 4, 4-2.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (2-2) lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks finished game 3 early yesterday and lost 8-7. They started game 4 shortly after. Bukauskas started and pitched well allowing just 1 run over 6 innings with 7 strikeouts. The Hooks only scored one run which came on a de Oleo solo HR in the 3rd. Scheetz relieved JB and allowed 2 runs in the 7th as San Antonio won game 4, 3-1. The final game of the series is this afternoon.
