Astros Minor League Recap: August 6th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (65-49) won 12-3 (BOX SCORE)

Emanuel started for Fresno last night and was very good tossing 5 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit. The offense got on the board in the 3rd scoring 5 runs on a Tucker 2 run HR (15) and Alvarez 3 run HR (18). Reed added a 3 run HR (23) in the 5th to make it 8-0. Mayfield put the game out of reach with a grand slam in the 6th as the Grizzlies went up 12-0. The bullpen allowed a few runs but the offense carried them to victory in this one.

Note: Alvarez has 3 HR, 10 RBI over his last 10 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (68-45) OFF


A+: Buies Creek Astros (63-49) OFF


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (63-49) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

The offense got out to a quick start getting a leadoff HR from Shaver in the first. In the 2nd, Schreiber added a solo HR to make it 2-0. Sandoval started and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5 innings. Unfortunately, the bullpen was unable to hold the lead as Peoria picked up 2 runs in the 9th to win it.

Note: Shaver has 2 HR, 8 RBI over his last 10 games.


A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (27-22) won 7-4 (BOX SCORE)
