Astros Minor League Recap: June 6th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (35-24) lost 6-1 (BOX SCORE)

Dykxhoorn started for Fresno last night and was phenomenal going 7 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 run with 6 strikeouts. The offense didn’t do much though just getting a solo HR from Reed in the 2nd inning. The bullpen allowed 5 runs over the final two innings as the Grizzlies lost 6-1.

Note: Stubbs is hitting .375 this season with 10 BB/13 K in 28 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (35-23) won 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Bostick made his first appearance since May 7th and tossed 3 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. The Hooks first got on the board in the 4th on a Birk RBI double. Scheetz relieved Bostick and had 2 scoreless innings for himself. Perez came into the game in the 6th inning and allowed 2 run HR as Frisco took a temporary lead. The Hooks went into the 8th down 2-1 but took the lead on a 2 out, 3 run HR from Wrenn. Nunn tossed 2 scoreless innings to close it out.

Note: Cesar is on a 28 game hitting streak in which he is hitting .391 with 7 HR, 25 RBI.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (32-26) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Bailey got the start for Buies Creek and pitched well going 5 innings allowing 1 run. Adcock relieved Bailey and went 4 innings, allowing a 3 run HR in the 9th to put Myrtle Beach up 4-0. Buies Creek rallied in the 9th with a Toro RBI single, Dawson RBI groundout, and Payano RBI single. Unfortunately, Robinson groundout with two guys on to end as Buies Creek fell 4-3.

Note: Matijevic is on an 18 game hitting streak.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (32-27) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

The game was scoreless through 4 innings before Quad Cities posted a 3 spot in the 5th inning thanks to an Angarita 2 run triple and Lacroix RBI single. Paredes got the start and allowed 2 runs in 4.1 innings. He was relieved by Ramirez who allowed 2 runs to Wisconsin in the 7th as the River Bandits fell 4-3.

Note: De La Cruz is hitting .353 over his last 10 games.
