Astros Minor League Recap: June 26th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (46-31) lost 9-5 (BOX SCORE)

Fresno jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Tucker connected on another HR, his 12th HR of the season. The offense picked up 3 more runs in the 2nd on a Tanielu 3 run HR. Unfortunately, Dykxhoorn had his first rough outing for Fresno allowing 6 runs in just 2.1 innings. He was relieved by Garza who allowed 3 runs in 2.2 innings. Fresno got one back in the 5th on a Federowicz RBI double but they would fall by a score of 9-5.

Note: Tucker has 6 2B, 4 HR, 13 RBI over his last 15 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (48-27) OFF


A+: Buies Creek Astros (41-34)

Game 1 – won 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Rodgers conitnued his rehab as he started for Buies Creek yesterday tossing 3 scoreless innings. Buies Creek scored all four of their runs in the 4th inning on a Bohanek RBI single, Adams 2 run double and another run scoring on an error. Adcock relieved Rodgers and really struggled with his command walking 6 and allowing 2 runs over 1.2 innings, though he picked up the win. Balaguer tossed 2.1 scoreless innings picking up the save.

Note: Julks is hitting .348 with 5 XBH in 7 games since promotion.

Game 2 – won 6-0 (BOX SCORE)

Buies Creek jumped out to an early lead scoring 3 runs in the first on a De La Cruz RBI single and another scoring on a wild pitch. With the bases loaded and 1 out in the 4th, a wild pitch turned into 3 runs scoring after it was followed up by a throwing error. Perez got the start and dominated on the mound tossing 7 scoreless innings (complete game) and striking out 8 with zero walks.

Note: Perez has 74 K in 64.2 innings this season.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (41-35) lost 5-0 (BOX SCORE)

Back to back scoreless games for the River Bandits offense. The offense managed just 3 hits on the night, with two coming in the 9th inning. Rodriguez started and allowed 5 runs over 6 innings. Sanabria and Feldmann had scoreless outings in relief.

Note: Sanabria has 46 K in 31.1 innings this season.
