Astros Minor League Recap: May 28th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (30-22) won 11-2 (BOX SCORE)

Rogelio Armenteros got the start for Fresno last night and turned in a solid start allowing 2 runs, 1 earned over 6 innings of work. Fresno got off to a quick start getting 3 runs in the first on a Reed sac fly and Kemmer 2 run double. In the 2nd inning the offense put up a 5 spot thanks to a Tucker 3 run double, White sac fly, and Kemmer RBI double. The offense continued their hot hitting in the third with a Tucker RBI double and Reed RBI single. The Fresno bullpen was great tossing 3 scoreless innings to close it.

Note: Reed is hitting .345 with 4 HR, 10 RBI, 12 BB/3 SO over his last 10 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (29-21) OFF


A+: Buies Creek Astros (28-22) POSTPONED


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (29-22) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

Wild game for Quad Cities last night. Leovanny Rodriguez got the start and tossed 5 scoreless innings. The River Bandits took an early 1-0 lead on an Arauz RBI double in the 3rd. Peoria would tie it up at 1 in the 6th. The River Bandits responded getting 3 runs in the 8th on a Papierski RBI double and Shaver 2 run double. Peoria rallied in the 9th scoring 3 runs and tying it at 4. In the bottom of the 9th, Arauz had a 1 out double and later scored on a walk-off RBI single from Corey Julks.

Note: Arauz is hitting .410 with 4 2B, 2 3B over his last 10 games.
