Astros Minor League Recap: May 14th, 2018

Another day of minor league baseball in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (24-15) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Hauschild got the start for Fresno last night and was solid allowing 2 runs over 5 innings. The Grizzlies entered the 6th down 2-0 but score 2 runs on a Federowicz 2 run HR. In the 8th, Fresno scored 2 more runs on a Kemmer 2 run triple. The bullpen pitched well with Hoyt picking up the save.

Note: Davis is hitting .439 with 10 RBI over his last 10 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (21-16) won 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got a phenomenal start last night from Quiala who went 7 scoreless innings while striking out 7. Jones continued his hot hitting with a 2 run HR in the 4th to put the Hooks up 2-0.  Ferrell picked up the save allowing 1 run in his 2 innings of work.

Note: Jones is hitting .353 with 3 HR, 9 RBI over his last 10 games.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (22-15) OFF


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (19-16) lost 5-1 (BOX SCORE)

Tyler Ivey got the start last night and allowed 4 runs, 3 earned over 5 innings. He was relieved by Solomon who struck out 6 over 3 innings. The River Bandits offense struggled as they managed just 1 run in the 9th on a Papierski RBI single but that is all they would get as they fell 5-1.

Note: Ivey has 8 BB/45 K in 31.2 innings this season.
