Astros Minor League Recap: April 12th, 2017
Three of the four minor league teams in action last night. See how the teams and prospects performed in their games yesterday.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (4-3) won 7-4 (BOX SCORE)
After a rough game Tuesday, the Grizzlies got back on track last night. Yuhl got the start and after battling through a bases loaded jam in the first, went on to allow just 2 runs in 6 innings. Fresno exploded for 5 runs in the 2nd inning on a Tucker 2 run HR, Centeno RBI double, Kemp RBI groundout, and a Moran RBI single. Moran added another RBI single in the 6th and Brignac hit his first homer of the season, a solo shot, in the 8th. West gave up a couple out of the pen bu Diaz and Hoyt had scoreless outings to close it out.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (4-2) OFF
A+: Buies Creek Astros (6-1) won 5-1 (BOX SCORE)
After suffering their first loss on Tuesday, Buies Creek got back in the win column yesterday. Bostick got the start and was phenomenal striking out 6 and allowing just 1 hit over 6 scoreless innings. Buies Creek got on the board on a Correa RBI groundout in the 2nd inning. They would add 3 more runs in the 5th on a 2 run double from Tucker and an RBI single from McCall. McCall added another RBI single in the 8th to give BC their 5th run. Hernandez came on in the 8th and picked up the four pitch save.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (3-4) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)
Lefty Ryan Hartman got the start yesterday for Quad Cities and was very good allowing just 1 run over his 5 innings of work. He was relieved by Perez started well striking out three over his first two innings. Quad Cities battled and was able to take the lead with 2 runs in the 8th thanks to a Sierra RBI single and a Jones sacrifice fly. Unfortunately, Peoria would tie the game in the bottom the 8th and win it with a walk-off in the 10th. Sierra is now hitting .333 in the first 7 games of the season.
