Houston Astros Minor League Recap: August 22nd

Another night of Astros minor league play is in the books. See how the prospects performed last night.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (67-62) lost 7-1 (BOX SCORE)

Fresno continues to slide. Yuhl made his third start in AAA and ended up allowing 5 runs in 5.2 innings of work. AAA hasn’t been kind to him as he owns a 9.60 ERA in those three starts. The offense was very quiet only mustering five hits on the night. One of those hits was a White solo HR in the 9th inning, the only run they would score. West tossed a scoreless outing in relief and has a 3.38 ERA in AAA so far.

  • Keegan Yuhl, RHP: 5.2 IP, 12 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
  • Aaron West, RHP: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (75-51) OFF

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (71-55) OFF

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (58-68) lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Just like Fresno, Quad Cities has struggled too. Perez got the start in this one but struggled giving up a run in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, though only 1 was earned. He finished tossing 3 innings with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The River Bandits got on the board in the 6th on a Michelena RBI single but that is all they would get. Sierra made his debut for Quad Cities tossing 3 scoreless innings.

A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (32-30) PLAYED DOUBLE HEADER

GAME 1 – lost 1-0 (BOX SCORE)

GAME 2 – lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)
