Houston Astros Minor League Recap: July 7th
Another night of Astros minor league play is in the books. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (44-41) won 14-0 (BOX SCORE)
Dominating win for Fresno last night. Hauschild got the start for the Grizzlies and was flat out dominant. He tossed 8 scoreless innings allowing just 2 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 9. The offense did more than enough. Bregman hit another HR, a solo shot to RF, in the first to start the scoring. In the 3rd inning Fresno added two more runs on a White 2 run HR. In the 7th inning they opened up the lead with 4 more runs thanks to an RBI single from Moran, 2 run double from Teoscar, and a Singleton RBI single. Fresno would finish off their night with 6 runs in the 8th. In that inning Tucker hit a solo HR, Fontana had an RBI double, Kemp added a 2 run double and Bregman capped it off with a 2 run single. Every Fresno player in the lineup had a hit and scored a run.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (55-29) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)
Corpus rallies late to pick up the win. Martes was on the mound for the Hooks in this one and had a nice outing. He finished going 6 innings allowing 1 earned run with 7 strikeouts. Corpus got on the board in the 2nd inning with a 2 run double from Stubbs. Weathersby made his AA debut pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Martes. The game would stay tied at 2 into the 9th inning. In the top of the 9th, a run scored on a force out an then Garcia came through with an RBI single. Thompson picked up the save but did give up a run in the 9th.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (43-41) won 9-6 (BOX SCORE)
Just a typical California League game last night. Lancaster got their scoring started with 3 runs in the 2nd inning on a Ritchie 3 run HR. Lancaster would get two more runs in the 3rd inning thanks to a 2 run single from Ballard. Thornton got the start and went 6.2 innings allowing 4 runs with 6 strikeouts. Boyd and Martin added RBI single in the 6th to extend the lead. Deemes tossed a scoreless 1.2 innings to pick up the save for Lancaster.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (39-45) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)
Quad Cities wins this one having to battle back multiple times. Bower started for the River Bandits and struck out 6 while allowing 2 runs over 5 innings. Quad Cities was down 2-0 going into the bottom of the 4th. In the 4th they rallied for 3 runs with an RBI double from Tucker, a sac fly from Hermelyn, and a run scoring on a passed ball. Beloit scored two runs in the 8th to retake the lead but the River Bandits would respond. In the bottom of the 8th, Michelena came through with a 2 run single to give QC the lead. Whitt closed it out with a scoreless 9th inning.
