Houston Astros Minor League Recap: June 2nd
All teams in action last night and it was a sweep on the farm. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (24-28)
GAME 1 – won 6-2 (BOX SCORE)
Solid win for Fresno. They jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first with an AJ Reed 2 run HR, his 7th HR of the season. Fresno would add another run with a Moran RBI single in the 3rd inning. In the 6th the Grizzlies added 3 more runs with RBIs from Aplin and Duffy. Rodgers got the start and was great allowing just 1 hit and 0 runs over 6 innings of work with 8 strikeouts. Chapman pitched the final inning and gave up 2 runs but Fresno was able to hold on for the win.

GAME 2 – won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)
Fresno sweeps the double header with a close win in game two. Hauschild got the start and pitched well allowing 3 earned runs in five innings but 0 BB/7 K as well. As was the case in the first game, Fresno got out to an early lead in game two as well. Tucker hit a solo HR in first inning, his 2nd HR in AAA. They would cap off the scoring with three more in the 2nd thanks to an RBI single Heineman and a 2 run single from Perez. Jankowski pitched a scoreless 6th and Hoyt pitched a perfect 7th with a strikeout to save the win.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (32-20) won 4-0 (BOX SCORE)
Another day, another win for Corpus. Paulino got the start in this one and was phenomenal. He went 5 innings allowing just 1 hit, no runs, and striking out 7. The Hooks scored a run in the first on an RBI single from McDonald. They would add three more in the 5th with a Fisher RBI single, Bregman scoring on an error and Davis RBI single. That is all the Hooks would need in this one. Emanuel pitched the second part of the tandem and was fantastic. He pitched four perfect innings striking out five to seal the win.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (27-26) won 9-1 (BOX SCORE)
Lancaster is playing good baseball right now. Recently promoted to Lancaster, Mizell hit another HR, a 3 run shot in the 2nd inning. In the 3rd inning Stubbs hit a 2 run HR, his 6th HR of the season. Thornton got the start and allowed just 1 earned run over 6 innings of work. They would add four more runs in the 7th with RBIs from Sewald, Nunez, and Marlow. Ryan Thompson closed the game with a perfect 3 innings.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (23-30) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)
Quad Cities wins this one late with some clutch hitting. QC got the scoring started in the first inning with a Goedert RBI single. J. Hernandez got the start and gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, over 4 innings with 7 strikeouts. Quad Cities entered the 6th down 2-1 and put a 2 spot on Clinton thanks to back to back sac flies from Wernes and Duarte. E. Hernandez pitched the second half of the tandem and did well allowing just 1 run over 4 innings. The game went to the 9th inning tied at 3. Duarte lead off the 9th with a double and advanced to third on a sac bunt. Trompiz singled him home to take a 4-3 lead. Garza pitched a perfect 9th and picked up the save.
