Houston Astros Minor League Recap: June 16th
All four full season teams as well as the DSL squads in action. See how the prospects performed last night.
AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (30-35) won 4-0 (BOX SCORE)
Valdez got the start for the Grizzlies and was fantastic. He tossed a complete game shutout allowing just 1 hit with 10 strikeouts. Fresno got on the board with a Duffy RBI single in the first inning. Fresno added to the scoring with a Tucker solo HR, his 3rd in AAA. In the 8th the Grizzlies got an RBI single from Reed. In the 9th Perez added an RBI single to cap the scoring.

GAME 1 lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)
Hooks dropped the first game of the double header. Grills got the start and pitched well but had one bad inning, the 3rd where he gave up 3 runs. He ended up going 7 innings allowing just the 3 runs. Corpus got their scoring started with a solo HR from McDonald in the 2nd inning. They would add another run in the 3rd on a Tanielu RBI single. In the 6th Gregor came through with an RBI single to tie the game at 3-3. The game would stay tied until the 9th when Frisco was able to walk-off with the win.

GAME 2 won 2-0 (BOX SCORE)
Corpus pitching limits Frisco to just two hits. Frias got the start and went the first 6 innings allowing 2 hits with no runs. Corpus only scored once but made it count. In the 3rd inning after a Teoscar single, Bregman hit a 2 run HR, his 14th HR of the season. West pitched a scoreless 7th inning to seal the win.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (34-32) lost 6-4 (BOX SCORE)
Lancatser lost this one late last night. Dykxhoorn got the start and pitched well. He went 5 innings giving up 2 earned run with 5 strikeouts. Lancaster got on the board in the first with a Ferguson solo HR, his 5th of the season. In the 5th the Jethawks would get another run on a Boyd RBI single. They would enter the 9th down 4-2. In the 9th Woodward hit a game tying 2 run HR to send it to extras. Unfortunately, Bakersfield scored two in the 12th to win it.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (29-36) lost 6-1 (BOX SCORE)
Quiet night for the offense. Quiala got the start and was roughed up a bit giving up 3 runs in just 1.2 innings of work. Nelson came on in relief and pitched 3.1 scoreless innings. Murphy pitched the final four innings pitching well outside of giving up a 3 run HR. The offense only had four hits with McCall collecting two of them, including a solo HR, his 4th HR of the season.
