A+: Lancaster Jethawks (11-19) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

The rough season continues for Lancaster as they lose this one in a walk-off. They fell behind early when Rancho Cucamonga scored 2 runs in the first off of starter Joshua James. James ended up going 4 innings allowed 3 runs, 2 earned and 8 strikeouts. Lancaster scored 1 in the 2nd and 1 in the 4th before rallying for 3 in the 5th. Stubbs, Tanielu, and Garcia all had RBI singles in the 5th. Lancaster went into the bottom of the 9th up 5-4 but Heredia surrendered a 2 run triple and RC came away with the victory. Trent Thornton was great striking out 7 in 4 innings.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (14-18)

GAME 1 lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Quad Cities jumped out to an early lead with a run in each of the first two innings. Starting pitcher, Hernandez, gave up 4 ER over 5 innings. QC rallied for another run thanks to an RBI double from Kyle Tucker. QC ended up entering the ninth down 3 runs. They got RBIs from Porter and McCall but ended up losing but just one run. Tucker ended up two hits and another stolen base giving him 15 on the season.

GAME 2 won 1-0 (BOX SCORE)

Funny how baseball works. QC’s offense was silent in this game but one run was all they needed. Starting pitching Chris Murphy dominated pitching the full seven innings giving up just 4 hits and zero runs. QC scored one run in the bottom of the first with an RBI triple from Hermelyn. They only managed four hits but it was enough for Murphy.
