Alex Bregman Leaves Game With Hamstring Injury

Last night the Corpus Christi Hooks lost to the Frisco RoughRiders by a score of 9-3. To make things worse, Astros top prospect Alex Bregman left the game in the 7th with an apparent hamstring injury.

The #2 overall pick in the 2015 draft was removed from the game after limping his way to first base running out a grounder to third base. Hooks manager Rodney Linares stated “We don’t know. He’s going to be re-evaled. It’s a hamstring issues. We’re looking at it right now.”

The seriousness of the injury is not known yet but these type of injuries can take a while to heal and are easily re-aggravated. This morning Alex Bregman posted this on twitter:

Bregman is currently hitting .340 with 5 HR, 14 RBI, 6 BB/5 SO, 2 SB in 13 games for the Hooks. I will be sure to update with any new information regarding this injury.
