Overview:
Thomas was drafted by the Astros in the 11th round of the 2025 draft after spending three years at three different schools. He put together a strong junior season at Arkansas, hitting .303 with nine home runs. He didn’t do much following the draft, but he has broken out this year with Asheville, connecting on 20 doubles and 15 home runs with an OPS over .850 while also stealing 31 bases. Thomas is a plus athlete who played football in high school, and at 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds, he’s built like a cornerback. He covers plenty of ground in the outfield with his plus speed, which also makes him a threat on the bases. There is some sneaky pop in his bat, too, and after a strong season in Asheville, the next step in Corpus Christi will be a big test for him.
