Houston Astros Sign Four More International Prospects

Thomas Sveyda via X

The Houston Astros have signed four more international prospects, according to their official transactions page. Below are the prospects they’ve inked.

The first prospect is left-hander Thomas Sveyda from the Dominican Republic, listed at 5’10”, 170 pounds. The Astros also signed right-hander Cesar Pastrano, who comes in at 5’11”, 165 pounds, along with Angel Alcantara, a 6’1″, 157-pound right-hander. Rounding out the group is another right-hander, Angel Brito, who is listed at 5’11”, 159 pounds.

Information on these pitchers is extremely limited at this stage, but the Astros have built a reputation for identifying and developing lower-bonus arms into legitimate prospects and in some cases, major league contributors.
