Astros Minor League Recap: September 13th

Another day of Astros minor league baseball in the books! See the results below. Check out the previous day’s recap here.

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (70-72)

Game 1 – lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Ullola started for Sugar Land and went 5 innings allowing 3 runs while striking out 4. The offense got on the board in the 7th on a Singleton RBI single but that was it as Sugar Land fell 3-1.

Note: Ullola has a 3.95 ERA this season.

Game 2 – lost 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first inning on a Price 2 run HR. Bolton started for Sugar Land and went 3.2 innings allowing just 1 run. The offense got another run in the 6th on a Short RBI single. Contreras allowed 2 runs as Round Rock tied it but the offense took the lead again scoring a run in the 7th on a Whitcomb solo HR. Scott allowed a run in the 7th and then one in the 8th as Sugar Land fell 5-4.

Note: Whitcomb has a .892 OPS in Triple-A.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (46-88) lost 8-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Hoooks got on the board in the first inning on a Clarke sac fly. They got another run in the 2nd inning on Guillemette solo HR. Clarke added an RBI single in the 3rd. Urias got the start and went 4.2 innings allowing 5 runs. In the 5th Spence connected on a solo HR and in the 6th they got another run on a double play. Dombroski was great in relief but the offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Hooks fell 7-5.

Note: Dombroski has a 3.61 ERA this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (52-76) SEASON OVER

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (69-63) SEASON OVER
