Astros Minor League Recap: July 27th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (51-48) POSTPONED

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (33-62) lost 6-4 (BOX SCORE)

France made a rehab start for the Hooks and went 2 innings allowing 3 runs. After Santa tossed a scoreless inning, Mancini came in and allowed 3 runs over 4.1 innings. The offense got on the board in the 5th on an Austin bases loaded walk. In the 7th, Guillemette connected on a 3 run HR. That was it from the offense though as the Hooks fell 6-4.

Note: Sullivan has a 1.092 OPS in Double-A.


A+: Asheville Tourists (41-53) won 8-5 (BOX SCORE)

Guedez started for Asheville and tossed 4 scoreless innings. He was relieved by Taylor who allowed 2 runs over 3 innings. The offense got on the board in the 8th on a Janek solo HR. After the Hot Rods got a run in the top of the 9th, the Asheville offense responded with 2 runs on a passed ball to tie it up. The Hot Rods picked up 2 runs in the 10th but the Asheville offense again responded tying the game on a Blomgren 2 run single. Then with 2 outs and 2 on, Gonzalez walked it off with a 3 run HR as Asheville won 8-5.

Note: Janek has 9 HR this season.
