Astros Minor League Recap: April 8th

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (4-6) won 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Ullola started for Sugar Land but only pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run with 2 strikeouts. Not sure why he was removed so soon. Ort pitched in a rehab appearance and allowed a run while retiring just 1 batter. Sugar Land got on the board scoring 2 runs in the 4th inning on Whitcomb and Guillorme bases loaded walks. Ivey went 3.2 innings in relief allowing 2 runs and striking out 6. The offense got 2 in the 7th on a Corona 2 run single and then 2 more in the 8th on a Short bases loaded walk and Corona RBI groundout. The pen closed out the 6-5 win.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (1-3) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first on a Castro solo HR and Cerny RBI groundout. They got another run in the 5th on a Lavastida RBI double. Rodriguez got the start and went 4 innings allowing 3 runs. Nezuh pitched in relief and struck out 6 over 3.1 innings allowing 1 run. The offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Hooks fell 4-3.


A+: Asheville Tourists (2-2) won 6-2 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the first inning scoring a run on a Nunez bases loaded walk. The offense rallied for 5 runs in the 2nd scoring on a balk, a 3 run HR from Guillemette and a Jaworsky sac fly. Brito made his High-A debut and tossing 4 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. He was relieved by True but allowed 1 run over 4 innings with 5 strikeouts. Linskey allowed a run in the 9th but closed out the 6-2 win.
