Astros Prospect Hotlist: Week Nineteen

For this piece, I will highlight the top performers at the plate and on the mound from the previous week of play. Below is the hotlist for Week Nineteen. Here is last week’s hotlist.

Who’s Hot At The Plate?

Narbe Cruz – Cruz has been steady all season for Asheville but had one of his better weeks. In 6 games, the 23-year-old hit .381 with 3 doubles, a homer, 5 runs batted in and a stolen base. He’s hitting .276 in 73 games this year.

Trevor Austin – Austin was signed as an undrafted free agent but has acclimated to pro ball quickly. This week, the 22-year-old hit .438 with a double, 3 runs batted in and 2 stolen bases. He’s hitting .407 through his first 7 pro games.

Zach Cole – Cole has really shown off his potential this season. This week he played in 3 games and hit .333 with 3 doubles, a home run and 5 runs batted in. Overall, he has 9 homers, 9 stolen bases and a .856 OPS in 55 games this season.

Luis Encarnacion – Encarnacion has had a solid season and despite only collecting 4 hits this week, 3 of them went for home runs. The 21-year-old is hitting .285 with 10 homers, 48 runs batted in and a .768 OPS in 69 games this season.

Who’s Hot On The Mound?

Jose Fleury – Fleury struggled with some injuries early but has been solid for the Hooks recently. This week, he made one start and tossed 5 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. He has a 1.19 ERA over his last 5 outings.

Anderson Brito – Brito had had a nice rise this season. The right-hander tossed 4 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts this week. Overall, he has a 0.87 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 41.1 innings across three levels.

Jackson Nezuh – Nezuh has been one of the better pitchers in the system and he turned in a nice outing this week. The right-hander allowed 1 run over 4 innings striking out 2. He has 132 K in 103.1 innings this season.

Raimy Rodriguez – Rodriguez has seen his struggles this year but this week was good for him. The right-hander tossed 5 no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts. He just turned 19 year-old last month.
