Astros Minor League Recap: July 27th

Another day of Astros minor league action is in the books. See the results below!

Here is the previous day’s recap.

AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (64-36) lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Lauer got the start and was solid allowing 2 runs over 5 innings while striking out 6. The offense got on the board in the 6th on a Wagner RBI single. The Sugar Land pen allowed 2 more runs and the offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Space Cowboys fell 4-1.

Note: Whitley has a 2.65 ERA this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (32-62) lost 4-0 (BOX SCORE)

Ullola got the start and was pitching well but ran into trouble in the 6th allowing 3 runs. He ended up going 6 innings allowing 3 runs with 6 strikeouts. The offense was quiet on the night picking up just 5 hits as they were shutout in the 4-0 loss.

Note: Ullola has 116 K in 92.1 innings this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (40-52) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

True got the start and pitched really well striking out 9 over 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The offense got on the board in the 4th scoring 2 runs on a Carrillo 2 run single. Urias pitched in relief and allowed 1 run over 4 innings. Asheville entered the 9th down 3-2 but would rally for 3 runs on a Carrillo RBI double and Guillemette 2 run double as they went on to win 5-3.

Note: True has 83 K in 73.2 innings this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (43-52) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Langford got the start for the Woodpeckers and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 5 innings while striking out 8. The offense got on the board with 2 runs in the 5th on Encarnacion and Casserilla RBI singles. Santos tossed 3 scoreless in relief but the offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Woodpeckers fell 3-2.

Note: Santos has a 3.29 ERA this season.
